Scott Yockel, Director, Harvard Research Computing
Scott Yockel, PhD, joined Harvard Research Computing in February 2015 as Senior Team Lead of HPC. Prior making the move from Dallas to Boston, he was Manager of HPC Services and Chemistry Faculty at University of North Texas. His research domain expertise is in Computational Chemistry with an overlap of Materials Science and Mechanical Engineering. Having been on both sides of HPC, as a researcher for 9 years and administrator for 15 years, he values the importance of providing efficient and streamlined computing resources that expedite the process of scientific breakthroughs. When not staring at the screen, he enjoys cycling and hiking through the New England countryside
Jack Harwood, Distinguished Engineer, Dell EMC Office of CTO
Jack Harwood is a Distinguished Engineer in the Office of the CTO at DellEMC. As a member of the Technology, Research and Innovation Group Jack leads applied research in the area of cloud native infrastructure, specifically focusing on leveraging distributed compute and machine learning/deep learning to construct Intelligent Infrastructure to optimize enterprise resource utilization. Through his 18 years at EMC Jack has led innovation in storage, security and networks resulting in the creation of new products and markets with 25 granted patents across these technologies.
